1. After installing the database, create a monitor and execute the $netca startup configuration interface. (the system I installed comes with the desktop version. Open bash to start listening in the desktop version.)

When you are finished, execute the command $lsnrctl start to start the listening service.

Create a database instance and execute the $dbca startup configuration interface.

2. Oracle multi-instance startup and shutdown:

Su-oracle

Export ORACLE_SID= instance name (you can see the instance name echo $ORACLE_SID)

Sqlplus / as sysdba

Startup

Shutdown immediate
