In particular, Vista makes the registry more bloated, and the impact of the registry on system speed is a bit unclear. Microsoft designs the registry to give applications a unified place to store configuration information. Because the registry is loaded when the system starts, it is faster for applications to use registry keys than to use external configuration files. But if the registry is too large, it will consume a lot of system resources, why there are so many registry cleaning software, it is because there is too much registry garbage, not only the application software creates registry garbage, Windows also creates registry garbage. When it comes to software that produces registry junk, Microsoft's software should be at the top of the list, such as Office and .NET Framework, which are written and registered to express a large number of software. WindowsVista's registry is estimated to be at least twice as bloated as WindowsXP.

How on earth should we optimize our computers and slim down the system? I have summed up eight methods:

First, make the system disk cleaner.

1. Enter: control Panel-system-Advanced-Environment variables

2. Click TEMP-- in the user variable to edit-- change that long list into D:TEMP (you can change it to another disk according to your needs, but not the one where the system is located)

3. As above, change TMP to D:TEMP as well. Because these things are the main internal trouble that makes your system disk expand rapidly, its properties are hidden, and some friends can't find them yet.)

4. In the "system variable", change TEMP and TMP to the above.

5, right-click the desktop "my documents"-- Properties-- set the "destination folder location" in the target folder, change it to D:MyDocuments or D: my document (which you like), and then optionally move.

This is very important, in fact, when our computer crashes, there is generally nothing important in the system disk, and all the useful ones are in MyDocuments, so move it to a nest, and you don't have to worry about anything, and there are quite a number of friends who don't back up the contents of MyDocuments in DOS mode (because the name of that folder is very long, if you use Chinese, it's even more troublesome).

6. Right-click InternetExplorer-- properties-- General-- Internet temporary files-- Settings-- move folders-- Select D:TemporaryInternetFiles (if not, you can create it first, of course, you can use D:TEMP or whatever, you decide)-- OK.

7. System-- Advanced-- performance-- Settings-- Advanced-- Virtual memory-- change-- Select D or other non-system partitions-- Custom size-- enter the size Mmuri-- setting; select C or the partition where the system is located-- No paging files-- settings-- determine, so that the virtual memory is transferred to other hard drives as well.

Well, the world (system disk) is quiet!

Second, give XP weight loss.

1. Delete system file backup

Sfc.exe/purgecache

two。 Delete driver backup

Driver.cab file (73MB) in the windowsdrivercachei386 directory

3. Cancel the system restore (but remember to keep the system restore of the system disk. If you don't want to use it, turn it all off. Anyway, I keep it:)

4. Delete Help file (minus more than 40 MB)

5. Delete the file under WINDOWSsystem32dllcache (minus 200-300mb). This is an alternate dll file.

You can do this as long as you have copied the installation file.

6. Install the tools and software on the system disk and the application software on other hard drives, especially remind: your FOXMAIL, QQ and something like this should never be installed in the system disk. Once the system is finished, you will OVER:) (this is also good for reinstalling the system).

7. Delete the input method that is not used under windowsime! (Japanese, Korean, simplified Chinese input method, 84.5MB)

8. If you think you have the ability to deal with some emergencies, install xp with ntfs, which will save your hard drive. Don't pretend to be a hero, otherwise, wait for CRY!

Third, delete the annoying msn,windowsmessenger

Go to C:windowsinf and open sysoc.inf

Find msmsgs=msgrocm.dll,OcEntry,msmsgs.inf,hide,7 and delete hide

Change to msmsgs=msgrocm.dll,OcEntry,msmsgs.inf,7 and save.

Go to the control panel-add and delete programs and there is an option to remove them.

Fourth, let the incompetent doctor Dr.Watson be laid off.

When the doctor looks at the computer and gets sick, he only tells you what the symptoms may be (I think he doesn't even know what he means), but he won't tell you what he has. The most important thing is that he doesn't see you at all (to solve the problem). What is the use of such a doctor? let him be laid off.

Enter the "drwtsn32" command in "start"-> "run", or "start"-> "programs"-> "Accessories"-> "system tools"-> "system Information"-> "tools"-> "DrWatson", call up the Dr.Watson of Dr. Hua in the system, and only retain the "dump all thread context" option (otherwise, if the program goes wrong, the hard disk will read for a long time and take up a lot of space. If this has been the case in the past, please look for the user.dmp file, which can save dozens of MB space after deletion.
