Today, the company purchased new equipment Dell R730 server configuration Raid array, and then share with you. The array configuration requirements are as follows: the server has a total of 8 disks, 2 disks for R2, 5 disks for R5 and 1 disk for global hot backup, as shown in the following figure:

Step 1: press the power supply to boot, and press ctrl+r to enter the Raid card configuration mode, as shown below:

To the interface below, press ctrl+r.

The Raid card configuration mode is as follows:

Step 2: press f2 to select Raid capable and add the disks to the raid array, as shown in the following figure

Press the space to select all disks and click ok

Step 3: create a Raid 1 virtual disk and press f2 to select Create NEW VD, as shown below

Select Raid 1, as shown below:

Select 2 disks and click ok

You can see that Raid 1 has been configured.

Step 4: configure Raid 5 disk, press f2 to continue to create virtual disk, as follows:

Select Raid 5, select 5 disks, and click ok, as shown below.

Step 5: create a global hot backup, which can back up Raid 1 and Raid 5 disks. Press ctrl+p to skip to PD Mgmt options as follows

Select the last disk, press f2, and select Make Global HS, as follows:

Step 6: verify to view Raid 1, Raid 5, and hot backup disks, and initialize Raid 1 and Raid 5 disks as follows:

Press f2 and select initialize disk, as follows:

Select Quick initialization:

Finally, press esc to exit the Raid configuration card and restart the device, as follows:

At this point, Raid configuration is complete!
