­Linux Lite developer Jerry Bezencon announced today the launch of the final version of Linux Lite 4.0 based on Ubuntu 18.04 LTS. This version, codenamed "Diamond" and equipped with the Linux Kernel 4.15 kernel, has been updated, introduced many new features and new UI adjustments (including theme Adapta and icon set Papirus), and announced the abandonment of support for the 32-bit version.

­in a statement, Jerry Bezencon said: "the Faenza icon set and Arc themes have been abandoned for some time and seem to be able to give up subsequent development. Most of our themes in version 4.x follow the concept of flat design, and we also use Openzone mouse themes."

­Linux Lite 4.0 also uses the exchange file implementation in Ubuntu 18.04 LTS, as well as full encryption. The new version also introduces a new boot screen, and the system tray area uses Xfce's PulseAudio plug-in for volume management, which is activated by default.

­Linux Lite's help manual has been significantly updated, introducing new content and images, and Xfce Terminal has replaced LXTerminal as the default terminal. It is also equipped with Firefox 60.0.1 "Quantum" browser, Mozilla Thunderbird 52.8.0 mail and news client, LibreOffice 6.0.3.2 office suite, VLC 3.0.2 media player, Thunar 1.6.15 explorer and GIMP 2.10.2 image editing software.

The minimum configuration of ­Linux Lite has been improved, the processor clock rate is at least 1.0GHz (1.5GHz or higher is recommended), memory is at least 768MB (1GB or higher is recommended), built-in storage is at least 8GB (recommended by 20GB), and the screen resolution is recommended to be 1024mm 768 (1366mm 768 is recommended).
