In NeoOffice > Open in the launch menu lets you choose the type of document you want to open when launched in NeoOffice. Sometimes, an Writer document is opened in NeoOffice at startup. Mac services that change the data highlighted in your document are also supported in NeoOffice.

Local floating tool window

In the LibreOffice of OpenOffice and, many floating tool windows, such as style and formatting and Color windows, look and behave like document windows. In addition, other floating tool windows, such as bullets and numbering and Table windows, look and behave like window floating tool windows. However, in NeoOffice, all floating tool windows in NeoOffice are native floating tool windows. This means that they look and behave like floating tool windows in most other Mac applications. They will have a small window title bar, all floating tool windows will float above the document window, and when the NeoOffice is not an active application, all floating tool windows will be automatically hidden until the NeoOffice becomes the active application again.
