The Windows2000/XP/2003 system has installed the Group Policy component by default. Take a domain controller running the WindowsServer2003 (SP1) system as an example, click the run menu item in the start menu, then enter the gpedit.msc command in the Open edit box and press enter to open the Group Policy Editor window.

When you open the Group Policy Editor window, its default editing object is the local computer. If users want to use other computers as Group Policy editing objects on their local computer, they need to open Group Policy as a separate console hypervisor, as described below:

Step 1, click the run menu item in the start menu, then enter the MMC command in the Open edit box and press enter.

Step 2, open the console 1 window, click the File → add / remove snap-ins menu command, and open the add / remove snap-ins dialog box. Click the add button in the standalone tab, as shown in figure 2008112619.

Step 3, open the add standalone snap-ins dialog box, select the Group Policy object Editor option in the available standalone snap-ins list, and click the add button, as shown in figure 2008112620.

Step 4, click the Browse button in the Select Group Policy object dialog box that opens to open the Browse Group Policy object dialog box. Switch to the computer tab and select the another computer check box, and click the Browse button, as shown in figure 2008112621.

Step 5, open the Select computer dialog box and use the advanced find function to find and select the target computer in the domain. Then click the OK → finish → close button to return to the add / remove snap-ins dialog box, as shown in figure 2008112622.

Step 6, click OK in the add / remove snap-ins dialog box to see the Group Policy objects that have been added in the console 1 window. Click the File → Save menu command to save the window for later use, as shown in figure 2008112623.
