I. UML use case modeling for context

For a system, there will be something inside it and something outside it. The task of the things that exist inside the system is to complete the system behavior expected by the things outside the system, and the things that exist outside the system and interact with it constitute the context of the system, that is, the environment of the system. In UML modeling, use case diagrams model the context of the system, emphasizing the external participants of the system. The modeling of system context should follow the following methods:

(1) use the following groups of things to identify participants outside the system: groups that need help from the system to complete their tasks; groups necessary to perform system functions; groups that interact with external hardware or other software systems; groups that perform some auxiliary functions for management and maintenance.

(2) organize similar participants into a generalization / specialization structure.

(3) provide each participant with a stereotype where further understanding is needed.

(4) put the actor into the use case diagram and illustrate the communication path between the actor and the use case.

2. UML use case modeling of requirements

The requirement is to put forward the description of the external function of the product according to the user's expectation to the function of the product. Need to analyze the work to be done is to obtain the requirements of the system, sum up the functions of the system to achieve, so that the final software product limits close to the requirements of users. The following methods can be used to model the system requirements.

(1) identify the participants outside the system to establish the context of the system.

(2) consider the behavior that each participant expects or needs to be provided by the system.

(3) name the public behavior as a use case

(4) decompose the common behavior and put it into the new use case for use by other use cases: decompose the abnormal behavior and put it into the new use case to extend as the main control flow. In short, it is to identify provider use cases and extension use cases.

(5) UML use case modeling of use cases, actors, and the relationship between them in the use case view.
