Huawei Cloud Distributed Cache Service DCS has powerful functions. Now I teach you how to set up global disaster recovery with two Redis active and standby instances in DCS management console.

Global disaster recovery is established. The primary instance and backup instance will be upgraded, the instance process will be restarted, and the connection will be interrupted. At the same time, the backup instance synchronizes data from the primary instance, and the original data will be overwritten. You need to be careful.

After creating global disaster preparedness, instances in different regions can synchronize data with each other.

Currently, this function is only supported in North China, East China and South China. Please refer to the actual situation of the console.

1 Prerequisites: The primary instance and standby instance have been created, and the instance requirements are as follows:

i. The cache engine type supports Redis 3.x.

ii. Cache instance type, supporting active and standby.

iii. The specifications of the primary instance and the backup instance must be consistent.

iv. Must be created after January 26, 2019. If it is a previous instance, you can submit a ticket to apply for upgrading.

v. The primary instance and the standby instance must have public network access enabled and maintain the same SSL encryption configuration. It is recommended to enable SSL encryption. If it is not enabled, please refer to public network access enabled for Redis instance.

vi. Passwords must be set for the primary instance and the standby instance and kept consistent, otherwise synchronization will fail. Access between the primary instance and the standby instance is via the public network, and there are certain requirements for the bandwidth of the public network. It is recommended that the bandwidth of the EIP be greater than the inbound network throughput of the Redis primary instance (this value can be viewed in the "Monitoring Data" on the instance details page). The EIP address and port of the peer instance must be allowed to access the primary instance and the standby instance (if SSL is enabled for public network access, ports 36379 and 36380 are allowed to be accessed; if SSL is not enabled, port 6379 is allowed to be accessed). Please refer to Add Security Group specification for setting the port access. Before establishing the global disaster recovery relationship, there cannot be any data on the primary instance and backup instance. If there is any data, you must manually clear the data. The console provides a "clear data function" and can also issue the FLASHALL command through the Redis client. 2 Steps Log in to the Distributed Cache Service Administration Console. Click in the upper-left corner of the admin console to select Regions and Projects.

Description:

Here, select the same region as the tenant's application service. Click Global Disaster Recovery in the left menu bar. Click Create Disaster Recovery Instance to go to the Create Disaster Recovery Instance page.

Please read the "How to Create" carefully before filling in the global disaster preparedness instance information.

After completing the information, check "I fully understand the risk and accept it" and click OK to start creating the instance.

After submitting your request, you can view your instance information on the Global Disaster Recovery page.
