Today, when answering questions in MSDN, I found that many enterprise end users have relatively strict requirements for Search. Although SharePoint is the best platform for enterprise data management and team collaboration, in a huge data platform, even if Search Service is provided, it will not accurately retrieve the documents that users need, and will present a lot of similar query results after fuzzy queries under all Web App associated with Service. This is also a troublesome problem for end users.

In SharePoint 2010, IT Admin can meet the needs of users by configuring Include or Exclude Rule in the features of Search Scope. It is easy to use, but it is optimized in SharePoint 2013 search Service. Result Resouces replaces the Search Scopes function. IT Admin can create Result Resource functions in Search Service Application, Site Collection and Site level. Although it provides a Granular way way to define result sources, it increases the complexity of maintenance.

This article, taking SSA level as an example, describes how to configure Result Source and how to display Search Result. The specific steps are as follows:

Result Source procedure:

After IT Admin accesses SharePoint Center Admin- > Search Service and sets Crawl for Content Source, click Result Source on the interface, as shown below:

In the New Result Source interface, click "Launch the Query Builder" at the Query Transform function, enter the specific Site Collection URL, and save, as shown in the following figure:
