What is SHSH? Why back up SHSH?

SHSH is actually a signature for a specific version of ECID iOS. For an iPhone 3GS or iPhone 4, if you want to upgrade to a certain version, you need to download a file from Apple's activation server to determine whether the version is legal for the phone. This file is xxxx.shsh.

This document is very important for our escape from prison. We have to back up the SHSH files of each iOS version so that one day when Apple does not allow us to restore this version, we can set up our own authentication server and then restore the old vulnerable version to jailbreak.

Again, the concepts of ECID and SHSH only apply to 3GS and above, and the first and second generations of iPhone do not need to be considered.

The advantage of backing up SHSH is that after backing up the SHSH file, you can use the SHSH file corresponding to IOS, cooperate with the virtual Apple server, and reduce it to your favorite IOS version. For example, if you back up the SHSH file of iOS4.1, whether you upgrade to a later version of the firmware, as long as you have the SHSH file of iOS4.1 and set up a virtual Apple server, you can downgrade to iOS4.1 at any time.

Note: if your computer does not have the JAVA runtime environment installed, you will report an error.

Download and install the Java runtime environment in the prerequisites before re-executing the umbrella program.

Relumba will add a host entry to your computer's hosts file after running.

The saved SHSH file is stored in C:\ document and settings\ [user]\. The shsh folder on the local computer. Please take good care of it so as not to delete it by mistake ([user name] refers to the user directory where your computer is logged in, usually the administrator).

Note: as the umbrella agent service will be closed by Cydia, we do not intend to continue to provide it.
