Shulou(Shulou.com)06/02 Report--

At work, we often need remote servers, and we often encounter the following two troubles.

First, the number of connections to the remote desktop exceeds the limit, and the system will prompt you to exceed the number of connections.

Second, when connecting to a remote desktop, the same user cannot connect two desktops remotely at the same time.

To solve these two troubles, we only need to configure the remote Desktop Licensing service of Server 2008 R2. The configuration of the lab operation is as follows:

The prerequisites for this experiment:

1. The server has opened remote Desktop 2. The server can connect to the Internet

Lab environment: server 2008R2 server IP (192.168.0.107) win7 client IP (192.168.0.105)

Three server users are required: cs1, cs2, cs3

First, add three users on the server side: cs1, cs2, and cs3, and join these three users to join the remote desktop user group.

First, turn on the remote desktop authorization service of this machine

1. Open Server Manager-roles-add roles-remote Desktop Services

The Authentication method recommends that you select the second option, which does not require network-level authentication, because if you select the first item. If the XP system is connected to Server 2008, then the system will prompt you that you cannot connect.

RD Authorization configuration selects this workgroup because we are not using AD now, so we do not have to select this domain. It is recommended that you select "this domain" if your server is already joined to the domain. "choose the location of the RD authorization database" is recommended by default

Note that during this installation, the server needs to be restarted to complete the installation.

2. The authorization operation of remote Desktop Service is configured as follows:

1. "start"-"Administrative tools"-"remote Desktop Services"-"remote Desktop session Host configuration".

2. Find the Authorization option, and then double-click remote Desktop Licensing Server

3. In the pop-up window, the system will prompt you that "there is no relevant certificate server"

4. Click "close". Under the "Authorization" option, select "per user", click add, and then add this machine to it.

After the configuration, we need to activate the server.

III. Activate the service

Note: be sure to activate this service, if not, the remote Desktop connection will take up to 120 days, click "Authorization Diagnostics", below the summary you can see the "Authorization Server" we added, and click "start RD Authorization Manager" on the right.

Copy the serial number of the product ID to the web page. Feel free to write any other information.

We can see that Microsoft has assigned us a license ID for this server. We need to copy this ID information and use it later.

It is recommended that you choose "Enterprise Agreement" in the license Program, and it might as well choose something else.

In this place, we must pay attention to "product type", we must select "Windows Server 2003 terminal server" per user "client access license", and "agreement number", we can fill in 6565792, 4954438, 6879321 or 5296992. You can fill in any quantity. It is recommended to enter: 656579

The information in the figure above is what we need, one is the license server ID, and the other is the ID activated by the remote desktop. Copy these two ID and save them.

Open the server activation wizard and copy the license server ID with the following license server into the wizard.

The license server has been fully activated.

IV. Modify remote user session restrictions

Open the remote Desktop session Host configuration-Edit Settings-uncheck the "limit one session per user" box.

Now that all the configuration operations have been completed, let's test it with the client:

The above configuration operations solve the following problems: ① cannot remotely connect 2 or more desktops to the same user at the same time, and the number of connections for ② remote desktops is limited.
