According to a new report, Apple has reportedly cut production of all its iPhones by about 20 percent. However, as mentioned earlier, the iPhone 12 Mini accounts for most of the cost reductions. As Nikkei Asia said, the decision was made because demand for the iPhone 12 Mini was much lower than Apple initially expected.

Apple's initial goal was to protect up to 96 million iPhone components in the first half of 2021. This includes all four iPhone 12 devices and some older models like the iPhone 11 and iPhone SE. However, the company now aims to produce about 75 million vehicles simultaneously. That's still slightly higher than iPhone shipments in the same period last year.

Demand for the iPhone 12 Mini has not been impressive, and Apple has even asked suppliers to temporarily halt production of parts for the 5.4-inch device.

As mentioned in Nikkei Asia, some parts of the iPhone 12 Mini may have been transferred to the iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max. However, demand for the other three iPhone 12 models (iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max) appears to remain strong, which could help Apple break the record of $111.40 reported in December.

Although the iPhone 12 Mini is not yet in demand, the company may launch the iPhone 13 Mini later this year.
