In 2002, after paying about $20 million to the Russian space agency and after a year of preparation, he realized his dream of traveling to outer space as a civilian aboard the Russian Soyuz spacecraft. To pay developers who work full-time for Ubuntu, Shuttleworth created Canonical to hire them, Canonical Ltd. Registered in Man Island, office in Shuttleworth apartment in London. With the support of Canonical, Ubuntu can promise to release a new version every six months. In addition to the Canonical and Ubuntu communities, the Ubuntu project is supported by the Ubuntu Foundation, which has an initial fund of $10 million, also located on Man Island and managed by the Ubuntu Community Council.
