Restoring a tablespace is actually restoring its corresponding data file (a tablespace can correspond to one or more data files). The premise is that you must have a full library backup and the database is in a mount or open state.

(1) take the tablespace offline

RMAN > sql 'alter tablespace users offine'

(2) repair and restore tablespaces

RMAN > restore tablespace users

RMAN > recover tablespace users

(3) put the tablespace online

RMAN > sql 'alter tablespace users online'
