DHCP service, I believe you are no stranger, a simple service, is used to automatically assign ip addresses in the network environment.

The installation requirements for deploying DHCP are as follows:

1. The server should be a static ip address (servers usually use static ip)

2. In the domain environment, you need to use the active Directory server to authorize DHCP services.

3. Establish a scope (scope is to define the scope of the ip address pool)

Before installing the DHCP service, you need to plan the information:

1. Determine the range of ip addresses that the DHCP server will distribute to the client.

2. Determine the correct subnet mask, gateway, DNS pointing and so on for the client.

3. Make sure that the DHCP server should not distribute all ip addresses to the client, and that some fixed ip should be reserved for use by the print server, etc.

After meeting the above conditions, we began to deploy the DHCP server

1. Open the server console first, and click "add roles and functions". (there are no screenshots for those that do not need to be set, and for those not mentioned, just keep the default.)

As shown in the following figure:

2. On this page, select the server to which you want to deploy DHCP:

3. Check the DHCP server

4. Click the next step all the way until the installation, and then close this page after the installation is completed.

5. (an exclamation mark appears at the top right of the console after installation) since it is a domain environment, a non-domain environment is not needed for authorization, as shown in the figure. Click the exclamation mark and click to complete the DHCP configuration:

Note that domain administrator privileges are required to authorize DHCP servers. After the following figure appears, confirm that the user credentials are domain administrators, and then click submit.

After completing the authorization, click the tool in the upper right corner of the console and click DHCP:

Open the DHCP console and expand the settings in turn until you right-click IPV4 and click New scope:

After clicking New scope, the following dialog box will pop up to define the name of the address pool, which is not required, just define it yourself.

Define the allocation range of the address pool: enter the starting ip address and the ending ip address, and the following length and subnet mask will be obtained automatically.

Add the ip address to be reserved (the fixed ip address reserved for devices such as print servers in the environment), and click add after definition:

Choice. Yes, I'll configure these options now (the main thing here is to continue to define the assigned gateway and DNS server points. Choice: no, that's fine. I'll talk about how to reconfigure these options.)

Enter the gateway and click add:

Enter the ip address of the DNS server. Generally speaking, there will be the ip address of the DHCP server by default. If you need to point to another server, you can enter it and add it.

Okay, at this point, click Yes, and I think it's okay to activate this scope now.

Now you can see the scope we just created under IPV4. Right-click "acting on options" and select "configuration options" to configure the ip information distributed by the address pool in more detail:

Now we can open a PC to test whether the automatically obtained ip address is the same as the one just configured!
