Consideration of logical backup under Oracle active and standby Architecture

Shulou(Shulou.com)06/01 Report--

Today, I think of a question: if there is an environment with one master and one standby architecture, how to plan and consider how to make a logical backup according to the business needs. The version of the database is 10g and 11g

I think this question is quite interesting on the premise of considering performance.

First of all, the logical backup tool is extended on the basis of physical backup (Data Guard is also a kind of backup). You need to do logical backup. There must be places where Data Guard cannot support business scenarios. If you need to do a logical backup, then the logical backup tool is a key point, and the traditional exp tool can also be used in the standby database. If the amount of data is large, then obviously exp is not a good idea, so it is also a big hidden danger to do expdp on the main database. On the one hand, it has a large performance consumption, and on the other hand, it is not recommended to have greater performance jitter. We can consider doing it in the reserve bank.

Prepare the library and do expdp, can you?

In fact, we can. If we are in an 11g environment, we can use Snapshot Standby, then the library is readable and writable, then do expdp export, and then restore physical standby.

If it is 10g, there is obviously no snapshot standby, but it is OK, we can manually implement "failover, then export, and then flash back to restore."
