As one of the highlights of SAP Analytics Cloud, we hope to try its powerful machine learning-based data prediction function in the project. There are many function points based on machine learning in SAP Analytics Cloud. This paper first introduces the function of Time Series Forecasting (intelligent prediction based on time series), which is the simplest in terms of steps.

Popularly speaking, this function is to use the historical data generated in the past and the machine learning algorithm to predict the data that may occur in the near future. As for the principle of the algorithm behind it, users who use SAP Analytics Cloud generally don't care.

In order to experience the Time Series Forecasting function of SAP Analytics Cloud, I selected the number of daily confirmed cases of the new coronavirus worldwide as historical data, and used SAP Analytics Cloud to predict its growth trend. It takes no more than 20 minutes from downloading the historical data of COVID-19 to seeing the predicted data, which shows that the time series prediction function of SAP Analytics Cloud is quite easy to operate.

The operation ideas are as follows:

(1) download the historical data of the number of COVID-19 diagnosed from the relevant websites. (2) import the historical data into SAP Analytics Cloud and create Model. (3) create a Story based on Model, create a Line Chart control in Story, and use the Time Series Forecasting provided by the control.
