Roll back the cloud disk

If there is a problem with the current system, you want to restore the data of a cloud disk to a previous time, and you have created a snapshot for the cloud disk, you can use the rollback disk feature.

Matters needing attention

Before rolling back the cloud disk, please note the following:

Rolling back the cloud disk is an irreversible operation. Once the rollback is completed, the original data cannot be recovered. Please proceed with caution.

After rolling back the cloud disk, the data will be lost during the period from the creation date of the snapshot to the time when the cloud disk is rolled back. If you want to keep this part of the data, see synchronizing data after rolling back the cloud disk.

After the system disk is rolled back, the current key pair or password of the corresponding instance is automatically bound by default.

prerequisite

The following information must be confirmed before rolling back the cloud disk:

You have created a snapshot of the cloud disk, and the cloud disk to be rolled back does not currently have a snapshot being created.

The cloud disk was not released.

The cloud disk must be mounted to an ECS instance and the instance has been stopped.

Description

If it is a postpaid VPC instance and the postpaid instance shutdown feature is enabled without charge, when you stop the instance, in the pop-up box of the reminder, click OK, in the stop instance dialog box, select stop and continue to charge for the instance. If the downtime free mode is used, the instance may not be started successfully after rolling back the cloud disk.

Operation steps

Follow these steps to roll back the cloud disk:

Log in to the ECS Management console.

In the left navigation bar, click the instance.

Select the region.

Find the instance that needs to roll back the cloud disk and go to the instance details page.

In the left navigation bar, click the snapshot of this instance.

"Select the desired snapshot, and in the Action column, click rollback disk."

In the pop-up prompt box, click OK.

Description

If you choose to roll back and start the instance immediately, the instance will start automatically after the cloud disk rollback is successful.
