Shulou(Shulou.com)06/03 Report--

Before deploying SCCM2012 R2 to the enterprise production environment, we need to do a good job in the overall architecture design, so we need to understand the application scenarios of each site role and system role of SCCM. Here is an overview of each role of SCCM:

1) Central management site-one central management site can support 25 affiliated main sites. If we use the enterprise version of SQL as the background database, the entire SCCM architecture can support 40W clients, and if we manage more than 10W clients in our enterprise, then we must use the central management site architecture.

2) Primary site-each primary site supports a maximum of 250 secondary sites and a maximum of 10W clients per primary site.

3) Secondary site-each secondary site supports a maximum of 5000 clients, and the SQL database used in the secondary site must be installed on the server of the secondary site. In addition, if the number of clients in the branch area is less than 500, it is recommended to deploy a distribution point instead of deploying the secondary site.

4) Management point-each main site supports 10 management points, and each management point supports a maximum of 2.5W clients. Each secondary site supports a management point, and the management point must be installed on the secondary site server.

5) Distribution points-each primary and secondary site in SCCM2012R2 can support 250 distribution points, and each distribution point can connect up to 4000 clients. The total number of distribution points supported by the primary and secondary sites is up to 5000, which is the sum of the distribution points deployed under the primary site and the number of distribution points deployed under the secondary site of the primary site. Each primary and secondary site can configure up to 2000 additional distribution points as push distribution points. For example, an independent primary site supports 2250 distribution points, of which 2000 distribution points can be configured as push distribution points.

6) Software update point-a software update point supports a maximum of 2.5W clients

7) State restore point-each state restore point supports 10W clients

Upgrade of SCCM

1) pre-released version of SCCM2012-if the pre-released version of SCCM2012R2 has been installed, uninstall the previously installed pre-released version before installing the 2012R2 version, and it is recommended to reinstall the operating system of the original SCCM server.

2) version of SCCM2012 or SCCM2012SP1-if the installed version is SCCM2012SP1, we can upgrade this version directly to 2012R2 without installing the latest summary update package. If you install a version of SCCM2012 without Service Pack, you must upgrade to SCCM2012SP1 before upgrading to 2012R2.

3) SCCM2007 version-SCCM2012R2 does not support local upgrade of SCCM2007, but supports the co-existence of the same environment for both versions. In this scenario, we can create a migration task on SCCM2012R2 to migrate objects and content from SCCM2007 to SCCM2012R2

System requirements of SCCM2012R2

If we have already installed a pre-release version before installing SCCM2012R2, it is recommended that we uninstall the pre-release version and reinstall the operating system of the server to avoid errors that may occur when the version is changed. Next, we will introduce the system requirements for SCCM2012R2's new security.

Hardware requirements of the site system:

CPU:AMD Athlon 64 Intel EM64T, EM64T of Pentium IV, minimum processor speed 1.4GHZ

Memory: minimum memory 2GB

Hard disk: minimum free space for 50GB

Operating system support

The following describes systems that can support SCCM2012 site servers, database servers, and site roles

SQL server requirements

The site database of SCCM requires a 64-bit version of SQL server, and the collation of SQL must be configured as SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS.
