Experience of Z-Turn Board 7Z010 (20) board:

Power requirements for IF "> FPGA are usually complex because FPGA has at least three power requirements that must be sorted in order to achieve reliable system performance. FPGA manufacturers often have to specify or track the power-up sequence of the kernel and Iamp O. The consequence of not specifying the power-up sequence or not tracking the power-up sequence is that it often causes irreparable damage to the devices in the system. FPGA, PLD, DSP and microprocessors usually place diodes as ESD protection elements between the core and the Imax O power supply. If the power supply violates the tracking requirements and exceeds the forward bias of the protection diode, the device may be damaged.

Kernel voltage: the kernel voltage track is usually set to VCCINT to power the FPGA logic. The required current ranges from a few hundred milliamperes to dozens of amperes, depending on the clock frequency and the number of gates used. Because the load is highly capacitive, the core voltage and current requirements may be high at the beginning. The FPGA kernel has strict requirements for transient response, and the core power supply voltage must increase slowly and often rise to a stable voltage within a fixed period of time.

Icano voltage (VCCIO): the normally required voltage rail is 3.3 V, 2.5 V, 1.8 V or 1.5 V. The FPGA O standard can be set independently by the Imax O module in FPGA, so it is possible that there is more than one Imax O voltage in an IMAGO. The current requirements of Icano depend on the number of Icano used and the clock speed. In general, the current requirement of Ipaw O is low, ranging from a few hundred Ma to 3A.

Auxiliary voltage (VCCAUX): a high power supply rejection ratio (PSRR) is required because the power supply is directly connected to digital clock management (DCM). If the power supply noise is allowed to be coupled to the DCM, it may affect the performance of the system.

Therefore, the choice of power supply is very important.
