Shulou(Shulou.com)06/02 Report--

The plan is to replace SAN+SCVMM with hyperconvergence, first using a wave of so-called Microsoft VSAN (S2D) for hyperconverged servers.

Do 3 RAID5 (superfusion does not need to do RAID, in which SSD as a cache disk) more than 100T disk raid initialization for several days.

Install the Windows Server 2019 operating system

Two 10 Gigabit optical ports are configured with LACP NIC combination.

Install Hyper-v and create this lab virtual machine, AD and 3 nodes.

Add 5 300GB disks to 3 nodes

Three nodes join the wl.test domain respectively

Three nodes install the failover clustering feature respectively

Create a cluster

Run powershell in administrator mode, execute Enable-ClusterS2D to turn on S2D error report

Because it is a Hyper-v virtual disk, it is not on the list of Microsoft certified hardware. Each node registry needs to be modified.

Under HKEY_LOCAL_MECHINE\ SYSTEM\ CurrentControlSet\ Services\ ClusSvc\ Parameters, add the DWORD type, the name S2D, and the value 1. For 2019 nodes, you need to build a Parameters item in advance, and then create a new key value to avoid this problem.

Execute Enable-ClusterS2D again to open S2D

S2D is being enabled after entering

Because Hyper-v did not simulate SSD, the cache disk could not be found, but it seemed to work.

Open the failover cluster to see the storage pool

Select New Virtual disk

You can see the storage pool space and available capacity, select the storage pool and determine, capacity: 300x5x3/1024=4.39TB, available 4.34TB

Enter virtual disk name

Specify the size, and the free space is 1.44TB. Since it is a three-way mirror, the free space = available capacity divided by / 3mine 4.34TB / 3my 1.44TB.

Select create

Choose to close

Create Volum

Creation completed

You can see the shared volume

test

Share volumes to create a folder

Close the node1 node

Open the node3 node

Perfect!
