In fact, the search engine is not unfamiliar, the online project is basically based on lucence development and encapsulation, but the real-time is relatively poor, stand-alone version, the support for big data is a bit tight. Recently, my friend recommended elasticSearch as a search engine, so I took it for fun and had a try.

(all packages are based on the linux64 bit)

First, go to the official website to download the latest version: elasticsearch-5.6.2 (it may not be the latest, but the interface used is the current version 5.6).

After the tar package is decompressed, there are several details to review:

1. JDK must be switched to 1.8.

2. ElasticSearch occupies ports 9200 and 9300 by default. Use root account and netstat-atunlp to check whether the port is occupied.

3. Some articles say that elasticSearch binds 0.0.0.0 address by default, but after half an hour of repeated restart, I did not find this rule. I have been bound locally. I once wondered whether my hosts file was different from that of Daniel. The answer was no. No doubt about my system configuration. Go to the config directory under the elasticSearch directory, find elasticSearch.yml, command line vim elasticSearch, and find # network.host: 192.168.0.1. Copy it out, remove the comments, change IP to 0.0.0.0, done!

When everything is ready, go to the bin directory, command line. / elasticSearch &, and you will see the service start. Remember not to start with root privileges.

When you see the following message, it means that it has been started.

At this point, again command line netstat-atunlp, you can see that ports 9200 and 9300 have been started.

So far, the elasticSearch service has been successfully installed.
