CentOS system VNC configuration is how, many novices are not very clear about this, in order to help you solve this problem, the following editor will explain for you in detail, people with this need can come to learn, I hope you can gain something.

During the installation of the CentOS system, we should configure the VNC, so here, let's simply learn how to configure VNC in the CentOS system.

1. Check whether the VNC client and server have been installed

Execute the following command:

Rpm-Q vnc vnc-server

If you return information similar to the following

Package vnc is not installed

Vnc-server-4.0-8.1

It means that the system has installed the vnc server by default (generally speaking, vnc server is installed by default on CentOS systems).

two。 Add the user name to the configuration file in the CentOS system

Use the following command to edit the configuration file and add account information:

Vi / etc/sysconfig/vncservers

Make the following changes

# # Uncomment the line below to start a VNC server on display: 1 # as my 'myusername' (adjust this to your own) You will also # need to set a VNC password; run 'man vncpasswd' to see how # to do that. # # DO NOT RUN THIS SERVICE if your local area network is # untrusted! For a secure way of using VNC, see # lt;URL: http://www.uk.research.att.com/vnc/sshvnc.htmlgt;. # VNCSERVERS= "1:myusername" # VNCSERVERS= "1:gavin 2:john" # use the method for more user VNCSERVERS= "2:root" # VNCSERVERARGS [1] = "- geometry 800x600" VNCSERVERARGS [2] = "- geometry 1024x768"

3. Set the password for the root user

Use the following command to set the password: vncpasswd

When prompted for Verify, enter the password confirmation again.

4. Start the VNC service

Start VNC SERVER using the following command

Sbin/service vncserver start

When the following message is displayed, the startup is successful:

Starting VNC server: 2:root [OK]

5. Modify the window manager of VNC SERVER

The default window manager used by vnc server is twn, which is a very simple window manager that we can change to the commonly used GNOME or KDE.

First enter the user's home directory using the following command: cd "/ .vnc

Edit startup item: vi xstartup

Modify the startup item as follows: #! / bin/sh

# Uncomment the following two lines for normal desktop: unset SESSION_MANAGER exec / etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc [- x / etc/vnc/xstartup] & exec / etc/vnc/xstartup [- r $HOME/.Xresources] & xrdb $HOME/.Xresources xsetroot-solid grey vncconfig-iconic xterm-geometry 80x24 10 10-ls-title "$VNCDESKTOP Desktop" gnome-session # uses GNOME as VNC's window manager # startkde # kde desktop

# twm # Note the default window manager for CentOS system

6. Restart VNC SERVER

/ sbin/service vncserver restart

When the CentOS system prompts the following message, it indicates that the restart is successful:

Shutting down VNC server: 2:root [OK]

Starting VNC server: 2:root [OK]

7. Log in from VNC view

Install vnc view on windows, then enter xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:2, connect to login, and enter the password. Note: if you log in from vnc view, prompt connection refused (10061), it is because of the problem of linux firewall, log in to centos system, select SystemPreferencesRemote Desktop, check two items in sharing, do not check Security, click close, and then log in again with vnc view.
