According to a blog post on Medium, Rewound is a basic music player app released last week that makes your iPhone look a lot like iPod Classic and has been withdrawn from App Store.

According to the blog, Apple cancelled the app because it copied the design of iPod and charged for the functionality of Apple Music. People may mistake the app for an Apple product. Blog proves that the app has a very basic interface that looks completely different from Apple apps and does not have iPod Classic skin pre-installed. (after installing applications, you must download them.) We have asked Apple to comment and will update the story when we hear the reply.

The iPod does look a lot like Apple's classic design. Take a look at one installed by my colleague Tom Warren. Seeing him use the old-fashioned click turntable reminds me of the beloved iPod that I listened to Evans in high school:

According to the Rewound blog, iOS applications cannot be updated without "destroying all applications of more than 170000 users", but developer Louis Anslow says he will try to reuse it in some way. On the bounced GoFundMe page, Anslau said it would "try some adjustments and resubmit the bounce" on App Store, and GoFundMe will help support the development of Web and Android applications.

However, Anslo also sent a mixed message about whether these messages would appear. On GoFundMe, Anslow said, "it's not clear whether Apple will allow Rewound to return [App Store]", adding that "we don't promise a full version of any app."

So, for now, since the future of Rewound seems uncertain, it seems that you just need to wait for a chance to relive the good times of the iPod click wheel.
