Installation steps:

The following steps need to be performed on each AIX server, where each server must use a different license CD.

1. Confirm that the magnetic array LU is identified.

Execute the cfgmgr command to configure the device, and then execute the lsdev command to check that the physical volume (hdiskn) is recognized.

# cfgmgr

# lsdev-Cc disk

If the AIX host is configured with two FC HBA cards, the host can recognize twice as much hdisk (s) as the LU (s) mapped to the host. For example, after the disk array is divided into one LU and mapped to the host, the host can recognize two hdisk devices.

two。 Log in to AIX as a root user, insert the HDLM license (license key) CD into the CD drive, save the license file to / var/tmp/ on the mount drive, and rename it hdlm_license (/ var/tmp/hdlm_license).

# mount-rv cdrfs / dev/cd0 / mnt

# mount-v cdrfs-o ro / dev/cd0 / mnt

After the CD on mount

# cp / mnt/hds_hdlm.plk / var/tmp/

# cp / var/tmp/hds_hdlm.plk / var/tmp/hdlm_license

# umount / mnt

3. Install the patch

Insert the HDLM software CD:

# mount-rv cdrfs / dev/cd0 / mnt

# mkdir / tmp/hds

# cp-r / mnt/AIX_ODM/* / tmp/hds/

# umount / dev/cd0

# cd / tmp/hds

# installp-aXgd V5.0.0.1 / all

# installp-aXgd V5.0.0.4U/ all

# installp-aXgd V5.0.1.4U/ all

# installp-aXgd V5.0.52.1U/ all

# installp-aXgd V5.0.52.2U/ all

After the patch has been installed, do not exit the HDLM software CD, continue with the following steps

4. Install the HDLM software.

Execute the following installation command:

# installp-aXgd / dev/cd0 all

If HDLM has been copied from the CD to a directory on your system, then:

# installp-aXgd directory-copied-from-CD-ROM all

Directory-copied-from-CD-ROM refers to the directory path where HDLM is located.

5. Execute the following command to confirm that the package is installed:

# lslpp-L DLManager.rte

6. Perform dlmcfgmgr to configure the HDLM device:

# / usr/DynamicLinkManager/bin/dlmcfgmgr

Verify that HDLM-related devices are available, for example:

# lsdev-C | grep dlm

Dlmadrv Available HDLM Alert Driver

Dlmfdrv0 Available HDLM Driver

Dlmadrv is the file name dedicated to HDLM alert driver

Dlmfdrv0 is the file name of the HDLM device logical device. This name corresponds to the physical volume to be used. A HDLM device (dlmfdrvn) corresponds to a LU of the magnetic array.

7. Execute the following command to confirm that the physical volume is recognized.

# lsdev-Cc disk

# lspv
