Many users will choose to use the export and import function of vmware vcenter for backup without backup and disaster recovery. Under normal circumstances, they can directly import and use it. In some special cases, import may fail. The following is a brief introduction to common problems:

1. If there is an ISO file mounted on the drive when exporting the virtual machine, the import will prompt that the drive file cannot be found, and the import fails;

2. If you import OVA files into a new environment, and the hardware and version of vmware running are quite different, you may be prompted that the hardware features are not supported during import, resulting in import failure;

3. Unable to access file: c:\a.vmdk.End of OVA file reached while looking for: a.vmdk. As shown in the figure:

The solution is:

Change the format suffix of OVA to rar or zip format, and then decompress it. After decompression, there will normally be three files:

We import again in vcenter above, select ovf file, you can directly import boot use.
