EI Compendex database

The text publication of EI Compendex database is the "engineering index" in the traditional sense, which mainly collects literature in the field of engineering and applied science. It is the largest information database in the world. Its data come from more than 50 countries in the world, and nearly 20 languages are used, but most of them are in English. Nearly 200000 abstracts are added every year, and the literature comes from more than 3500 journals in the field of engineering and more than 1000 conference proceedings around the world, as well as papers and technical reports of various institutions. The collected literature covers all disciplines in the field of engineering technology, including petroleum, metallurgy, agriculture, machinery, civil engineering, environmental engineering, electrical and electronic, material science, applied physics, biological engineering, chemical engineering, optics, aerospace engineering, energy technology, computer technology and other engineering sciences.

The database is distributed in the form of text and CD-ROM. the main text publications are: ① Engineering Index monthly, 15000 abstracts per issue, with author index and subject word index attached to the abstract. The annual ② Engineering Index has 180000 abstracts each year, with author index, subject word index, source publication index and conference name index attached to the abstract. The electronic publication of the database mainly includes "Engineering Index" CD-ROM (EI Compendex-ROM). It can be searched by classification number, title, title, author, author unit, controlled words, free words and so on.

EI Page One database

Each year, the library collects titles of about 320000 articles from about 5400 journals, conference papers and technical reports around the world. The database generally only contains titles, and most of the data are not abstracted. In terms of the scope of collection, it is one of the largest databases in the world. The database has no text publications and only publishes CD-ROMs.

EI Compendex Web database

Since the 1990s, with the rapid development of computer network and communication technology, EI Company began to provide network engineering database. EI Compendex Web is an online version of "EI Compendex" and "EI Page One", which is text-free and CD-ROM. EI Compendex Web includes EI Compendex data from 1980 to now and EI Page One data from 1990 to now. About 500000 engineering literatures are added to the database every year, and their data come from about 5100 engineering journals, conference papers and technical reports, of which about 2600 have abstracts (EI Compendex). Since the 1990s, about 2500 new literature sources have been added to the database. At present, the largest number of journals in the database are chemical and technological journals, accounting for about 15%; computers and data processing account for 12%; applied physics accounts for 11%; electronics and communications account for 12%; and civil engineering accounts for 6% and mechanical engineering accounts for 6%. About 22% of the data are conference papers with subject words and abstracts, and 90% of the literatures are in English. It is worth mentioning that in order to provide the most professional and practical online information service, the data of the database is updated every week.

EI Engineering Information Village (Engineering Information Village)
