The Google Phone app has been recording calls for some time, and the feature has been enabled in several regions around the world. However, there will be some new changes in this app, as this app will allow you to record call logs for all numbers, including those you haven't saved on your device yet. While this feature hasn't been confirmed yet, 9to 5 Google has revealed this through its APK Insight, in which they decompiled the latest version of the Google Phone app and found hints that they might soon get these and other features.

According to the report, future updates to Google phones could allow the app to achieve a full recall in some cases. At the time of writing, you will need to turn this feature on manually, but future updates may change this.

With this change, the Google Phone app will let the app start recording calls whenever a user makes a call using a phone number saved in Contacts. Google does point out that even if the number is unknown, a message is played to all participants indicating that the call is being recorded. This is stated in the disclaimer.

You or someone else on your call may be in a place where you need to record everyone's consent. Everyone will be notified in advance that they are recording calls. You should obey the law of recording conversations.

Recordings are stored only on your phone.

At this point, we're not sure if Google plans to launch the feature, or if it's available at scale. Still, it's actually a nice feature for addressing telemarketers and spammers.

More strings in the latest Google Phone app point to banners that remind users that call logs will not be used if the phone runs out of storage space.

Considering that Google Phone can now be used on non-pixel phones, I believe that everyone can use this feature.
