System: centos 6.6 x86x64 minimized installation, no desktop environment

0x02: installing vncserver

The package name of vncserver under centos is tigervnc-server. We can query this package through yum.

Yum list | grep vnc

Install tigervnc-server

Yum install tigervnc-server-y

This completes the installation of tigervnc-server and its dependent packages

0x03: configuring vnc server

First, we enter vncserver in shell, where we will enter the vnc connection authentication password

Then we open multiple connected desktop numbers, such as: 1, 2, 3. Wait

Add the following information to the last line of vim / etc/sysconfig/vncserver: VNCSERVERS= "1:root 2:root 3:root" VNCSERVERARGS [1] = "- geometry 800x600" VNCSERVERARGS [2] = "- geometry 800x600" VNCSERVERARGS [3] = "- geometry 800x600"

0x04: iptables opens port 5900, 5901, 5902

The default vncserver 5900 corresponds to Desktop 1, and so on.

0x05: start vnc server

Add vncserver to boot

Chkconfig vncserver onservice vncserver start

0x06: testing

Download a vnc-viewer client tool to test vncserver

Some friends said that after the vnc connection, the screen was black and could not be operated. At this time, something must have gone wrong. Check the cause. Check the log first. Then let's take a look at the vnc log.

The following errors were found

Prompt that the command used by vncserver is missing, so let's install it through yum.

Yum install xsetroot twm xterm-y

Then the kill vncserver process

Vncserver-kill: 1vncserver: 1

Or restart vnc server.

Service vncserver restart
