Professor Xu Mingwei, vice dean of network science and cyberspace at Tsinghua University, said in his speech: with the emergence and development of new technologies such as 5G and the Internet of things, the development of network form from cloud-centric computing network to edge computing network is the general trend. Edge computing is the key technology to meet the needs of network characteristics in the 5G era, and there will be a wide range of applications in the future.

Wu Zhipeng, CTO of NetJuyun Union, was invited to attend the forum on the topic of new opportunities brought to the market by 5G and edge computing. Wu said: with the development of 5G technology, there will be a variety of new application scenarios. But regardless of the scenario, the need for distributed or edge computing will be enhanced. General Wu stressed that the increase in edge computing is not to abandon centralized cloud computing, but as a powerful supplement to cloud computing, there are still a lot of data that need to be collected to the center for further analysis in the future. so when doing edge computing, we should also consider the coordination with central cloud computing.

The next Generation Internet Research and Development Center of Tsinghua University Research Institute in Shenzhen introduced its latest research achievement in the field of edge computing-functional distribution network, or FDN (Function Delivery Network). FDN is the change and evolution of CDN. FDN is not only limited to the scheduling of content, but also realizes the scheduling of artificial intelligence, Internet of things analysis and other functions. The edge nodes covering the whole country can effectively control the delay and make the hug edge calculation easier.

At the meeting, Shenzhen Tsinghua University Research and Development Center of next Generation Internet signed a strategic cooperation agreement with FDN with China Resources Group, Shenzhen Lihe newspaper big data Center, China Productivity Promotion Center Association 21st Century Innovation Research Institute, Shenzhen Wangjuyunlian Technology Co., Ltd. and Hainan Gaohong Information Technology Co., Ltd., to work together to create a wonderful 5G future.
