On June 8th, the International Technical Seminar on Green Energy Saving in data Centers-2012 International Technical Seminar on Air conditioning system Standards for computer rooms in data Centers was held in Beijing, sponsored by the working Group of China data Center and co-sponsored by Hitachi (China) Co., Ltd. The data center standards and technical experts of China and Japan fully exchanged and shared the topic of green energy conservation in the data center, bringing the latest air conditioning system refrigeration technology and experience to nearly 300 professional participants. Jiao Zhanshuan, director of the China Engineering Construction Standardization Association (CECS), said in his speech that China is in an important process of economic restructuring and the transformation of the mode of economic development, and the task of energy conservation and emission reduction during the 12th five-year Plan period is very arduous. For large energy consumers in data centers, the relevant energy-saving standards and technologies of refrigeration systems are the key topics. China has always attached great importance to the issue of energy conservation in data centers, and this international seminar on air-conditioning technology in data centers is timely.

Jin Chengling, general manager of the Information and Communication Department of Hitachi (China) Co., Ltd., also delivered a speech and briefly introduced the current situation and key development trends of Hitachi Group and Hitachi China.

At the meeting, Zhong Jinghua, head of the data center working group, introduced in detail the impact of Chinese national standards on data center energy conservation from the aspects of reducing the power consumption of IT equipment, building energy conservation, improving the ambient temperature of the data center, rational arrangement of equipment, energy conservation of air conditioning systems, and so on.

Subsequently, Japan data Center Association (JDCC) Massuki Ito shared the initiatives of Japan and Hitachi on green and energy-saving data centers, and introduced the international coordination of energy efficiency indicators of data centers, the work of JDCC, power consumption and energy-saving measures of domestic data centers in Japan, and linkage energy-saving methods of IT supporting equipment.

Akira Senda, head of Hitachi Industrial equipment Technology and Environmental Systems Department of Hitachi Co., Ltd., focused on the relevant proposals and evaluation tests of "Ref Assit", an efficient and energy-efficient air-conditioning system for data centers adopted by ITU-U international standards.

From the perspective of environmental protection and energy saving, Hitachi Construction and Design Co., Ltd. has brought the introduction of green energy saving data center design methods and case sharing.

Finally, Zhang Jing, a consultant expert on the data center working group and a senior consultant on the implementation of the Intel data center plan, comprehensively combs the way of green and energy saving in the data center through the comparison of the cooling methods commonly used in the data center construction.

During the interactive session, experts from the two countries further exchanged views on the energy-saving technical standards of Sino-Japanese data centers and fully communicated with the participants at the scene.

There were enthusiastic questions and excellent answers at the scene, and the warm atmosphere was maintained until the end of the meeting.

It is worth mentioning that the ceiling local refrigeration system installed by Hitachi in the exhibition area attracted many participants to stop to visit and ask about the relevant technical details. Everyone is looking forward to the new data center air-conditioning technology that meets international standards. This international technology seminar reflects the deepening exchanges between China and Japan on data center construction and energy conservation standards. Last month, experts from the China data Center working Group (CTEAM) went to Tokyo, Japan, for an academic exchange with the Japan data Center Association (JDCC). The two sides exchanged experiences in data center construction and standard development. It is reported that the two sides also plan to organize the second technology exchange between the data center industries of the two countries in Beijing in October.

As an authoritative organization for the promotion of domestic data center standardization and innovative technologies, the data Center working Group has been committed to promoting the sustainable development of China's data center industry since its establishment in 2009. In December 2011, the data center working group formally completed the preparation of the "data center computer room air conditioning system technology white paper", which has been released to the public. (see website report) in the future, the data center working group will also play the role of a platform to continue to track the latest international standards and technologies, further enhance international exchanges, and combine the actual situation of data centers in China.
