1. Create a new virtual machine

(1) Click File-> New Virtual Machine

(2) Select Custom (Advanced)-- > next step

(6) modify virtual machine name-- > next step

2. Install centos 6.9 (no desktops) on the vm_3 virtual machine

Download centos-6.9-x86_64-bin-dvd.iso first, and I'll put the file into

F:\ soft_install\ job_software\ vmware\ centos-6.9-x86_64-bin-dvd1.iso

(1) Open the settings panel

Select Virtual Machine vm_3-> Virtual Machine-- > Settings

(2) Select the image file

Select hardware-- > cd/dvd (sata)-- > tick the connection at startup-- > Select to use the iso image file-- > browse-- > Select the path to store the centos-6.9-x86_64-bin-dvd.iso-- > OK.

(3) start the virtual machine

Select vm_3-- > enable this virtual machine

(4) install the system

Select install or upgrade an existing system

(5) Skip disk detection

Select skip

(6) Click next

(7) choose a language

Select english-- > next

(8) Select the keyboard type

Select u.s.english-- > next

(9) Select disk type

Select basic storage devices-- > next

(10) format disk

Click yes,discard any data

(11) modify the hostname (which is the hostname that will be seen later in the linux system)

Modify it to vm3-- > next

(12) Select time zone

Select asia/shanghai-- > next

(13) change the password of root Super Admin

(14) choose how to partition. Here is to select a custom partition.

Select create custom layout-- > next

Note: the first is to use all space, the second is to replace the existing linux system, the third is to reduce the current system, the fourth is to use unused space, and the fifth is to customize the partition.

(15) Partition to / boot, using ext4 format with a size of 200m

Select standard partition-- > create

Select / boot-- > ext4-- > 200-- > fixed size-- > ok

(15) create a partition of type swap, which is used as device memory when the memory space is insufficient, and is about one to two times the size of the system memory. 2048mb is allocated here.

Select standard partition-- > create

Select swap-- > 2048-- > fixed size-- > ok

(16) create a root partition, which is used to store files, and I allocate all the remaining space to it.

Select standard partition-- > create

Select /-- > ext4-- > fill to maximum allowable size-- > ok

(17) next, when the partition is complete, you can see that there are three partitions in the figure

(19) the system load setting, the default is fine.

(20) Select the system. Select basic server here, and you can choose as needed.

Basic server-- > next

Desktop: basic desktop systems, including commonly used desktop software, such as document viewing tools

Minimal desktop: a basic desktop system with less software

Minimal: basic system, without any optional software packages

Basic server: platform support for installed basic systems, excluding desktops

Database server: basic system platform, plus client of mysql and postgresql database, no desktop web server: basic system platform, plus php,web server, and client of mysql and postgresql database, no desktop

Virtual host: basic system plus Virtualization platform

Software development workstation: contains many soft mud Gian packages, basic systems, virtualized platform desktop environment, development tools
