Machine: two OLE6.5 with 12.1.0.1 RAC installed

Preparation: download p6880880_121010_Linux-x86-64 (OPATCH toolkit), p21551666_121010_Linux-x86-64 (PSU for GI and DATABASE)

Implementation process:

First upgrade the OPATCH tool of GI software

Su-grid

-- my p6880880_121010_Linux-x86-64 is in the / u01/app/opatch/ directory

Cd / u01/app/opatch/

Unzip p6880880_121010_Linux-x86-64

[grid@rac1 opatch] $which crs_stat

/ u01/app/grid/12.1.0.1/bin/crs_stat

-- back up the original OPatch tool

Su-

Cd / u01/app/grid/12.1.0.1/

Mv OPatch/ OPatch_bak

-copy the extracted OPatch to / u01/app/grid/12.1.0.1/ for opatch upgrade

Mv / u01/app/opatch/OPatch/ / u01/app/grid/12.1.0.1

Su-grid

[grid@rac1 OPatch] $. / opatch version

OPatch Version: 12.1.0.1.9

OPatch succeeded.

-- opatch upgrade of database software

Su-oracle

Cd / u01/app/opatch/

-- using the same ORACLE user to extract the OPatch tool

Unzip p6880880_121010_Linux-x86-64

[oracle@rac1 opatch] $which sqlplus

OPatch succeeded.

The above upgrade OPatch tools are all carried out on two nodes.

Next, upgrade GI.

You can back up the GI software before upgrading

Su-

Crsctl stop crs

Then put the GI software tar

In fact, you can rollback even if the patch fails.
