Shulou(Shulou.com)06/02 Report--

Reply Log Manager delayed replay management was introduced in Exchange 2013. What is delayed replay management? How is it different from the previous delayed copies?

Reply Log Manager is to take full account of the disk space of the database, the disk Icano and the status of the database copy in the process of delaying log replay to better ensure the high availability of the DAG database. Prevent excessive Imax O caused by delayed copy log replay, which will exert greater pressure on disk Imax O and affect normal database data reading. When the current disk condition does not satisfy delayed log replay, Reply Log Manager will delay log replay processing. In the previous (Exchange 2010) version of delayed copy log replay, disk and database replicas were not taken into account, and log replay writes will be carried out as soon as the delay time node is reached. The following figure shows that the delayed log can replay writes normally when the disk read time is below 25ms. When the disk read time is above 35ms, the delayed log replay action will be set to delayed state until disk Imax O recovers for a lower time.

It can be said that the Reply Log Manager of Exchange 2013 and Exchange 2016 CU1 is a better feature. (for more information, please refer to https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/exchange/2016/03/03/lagged-database-copy-enhancements-in-exchange-server-2016-cu1/.)

To enable Reply Log Manager in Exchange 2013, you can use the following command

Set-DatabaseAvailabilityGroup-Identity DAG1-ReplayLagManagerEnabled $True

Enabling Reply Log Manager in Exchange 2016 is enabled by default. If you want to disable this feature, you can use the following command:

Set-DatabaseAvailabilityGroup-ReplayLagManagerEnabled $false

You can use the following command to disable the Reply Log Manager feature for database replicas:

Set-MailboxDatabaseCopy-ReplayLagMaxDelay: [TimeSpan]:: Zero
