First, vim / etc/my.cnf

Add skip-grant-tables under [mysqld]

Restart the database service mysqld restart

You can log in to the database by directly entering mysql

Enter use mysql

Update user set password=password (reset password) where user=root

Refresh Settings flush privileges

Exit quit

Get rid of the skip-grant-tables that my.cnf first joined

Restart the database service mysqld restart

Log in to mysql-uroot-p with a new password
