Why clone multiple Linux systems?

Because I want to play. In fact, it is not, just to toss around, to play with a database master-slave, cache cluster, distributed message cluster, and distributed services. If you want to simulate an almost real environment, you must have multiple machines. There are only two ways to have multiple machines: buy and install virtual machines.

Now you want to simulate the implementation of distributed services under three machines, how do you install the environment?

When you have installed a Linux system in VMware, of course you can choose to install the next one and the next one, which is no problem! However, you need to install all kinds of software on each machine, such as JDK, Tomcat, Nginx. I have an extremely convenient way to use cloning to quickly build multiple machines in exactly the same environment.

Just do it. Don't talk nonsense.

Of course, first of all, you need to have an installed VMware and a Linux system, as well as other virtual machines and systems. What I use here is:

VMware Workstation 12 ProRed Hat Enterprise Linux 7 64 bit

1. Clone the environment you want to clone

After opening VMare, shut down or suspend the machine you want to clone, and then right-click * * manage * *-> * * Clone * *:

The rest are Next and Next, but when you choose "Clone method", you should note that it is best to choose "create full Clone" below, because this will not depend on your original environment:

Fill in the next name, location and so on. Just finish it.

two。 Simply configure your cloned environment

Because you use cloning, all the cloned environments are exactly the same, including hostname, IP address, MAC address, and so on, so there are only a few minor problems to be solved.

On the cloned machine, right-click * * Settings * *-> * * Network Adapter * *-> * * Advanced * *, click the * * generate * * button casually, and record the MAC address, as shown below:

And then it starts up.

Edit the ifcfg-eno16777736 file, which contains the network card and IP information under Linux 7. Command:

Vim / etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eno16777736

Modify the IPADDR and HWADDR to the IP you want and the MAC you just generated, as shown below:

Then restart the network card. Command: service network restart.

Of course, I set up a static IP before cloning, so if you get it automatically, there should be no IP conflicts. If you have modified the Hostname, you should modify it here as well.

To sum up.

The next simple feature of VMware greatly increases our interest in playing virtual machines, but many people don't find it, so I'll write it out. I hope it will be useful to you.
