Data is retained in RAM for a period of time (perhaps only 5 seconds or even 60 seconds or more) before the memory is flushed to the database file. The actual time that data is kept in memory will depend on the available cache memory, the type of operation that occurs in the data, and how busy the server is.

However, the important thing is to make sure that the data is sent to the Exchange server as soon as possible, and it is immediately flushed to the transaction log file.

If the server crashes before writing data to the database file, the database engine (storage process) automatically reads the transaction log file after the server recovers and compares it with the data stored in the appropriate mailbox database. If you restore lost data from the transaction log to the database, assuming that the entire transaction exists, any inconsistencies are resolved; if not, no write operations are performed, which helps ensure the integrity of the mailbox database and prevents damage to the normal database.
