The CPU and memory resource allocation of vSphere is calculated according to the "share" occupied by each virtual machine, which has only relative meaning and no absolute meaning.

I used EXCEL to make a table to calculate the resources obtained by 2 to 10 virtual machines based on the "share":

The usage is to enter the total capacity of the resource at Total capacity:

Then enter the name of the virtual machine and its share, and the allocated resources will be automatically given later.

In addition, when writing the formula, I found that the percentage of resource allocation shown by vSphere is rounded, so there is an error, which increases with the number of virtual machines. At 10 virtual machines, the cumulative total of resources will be much smaller than the total amount of resources entered:

Because I don't know the specific algorithm of vSphere, and in order to show that the result is the same as that of vCenter, I still use this error algorithm. If you want to be accurate, you can change the formula and still round it.
