The wonderful Sherry of LL Project

Sherry, female, is one of the SME of a SAP promotion project for a Fortune 500 customer in Suzhou that I participated in six years ago (2011). She is the Master Planner of the customer factory. On the project at that time, I was the consultant of SAP QM, and she was not the main partner of the project. However, in view of the fact that most of the business processes in the enterprise are integrated and span multiple departments, I still inevitably need to deal with her in the process of project implementation.

Sherry was born in the early 1970s, tough personality, strong personality, an unforgiving mouth, extremely serious and responsible at work, like to take people seriously. So we who entered the SAP consultants, and even the clients from the United States core team people left a deep impression. At that time, our consulting team and the business team worked together in the same large open office, and there were several conference rooms on the edge of the corridor, where the business team often met according to business needs. At the same time, the project team also has many meetings as needed, such as weekly meetings, as well as many process and plan discussion meetings. We found that whenever there is a meeting with sherry, her voice is always the loudest, and her voice can be heard by people within a 50-meter radius; she always fights red with people in other business departments on a certain issue and never admits defeat; once she catches a handle on the speech of someone in another department, she will fight back without hesitation and relentlessness. In that situation, we can not see the friendly cooperation between the various departments of the enterprise, cooperate with each other to complete the task, but the various departments challenge each other and fight to the death. Often the business staff of other departments, under her challenge, were so blushed that they could not stand it, and many female colleagues cried aggrieved after quarreling with them. It can be said that at that time, she quarreled all over the factory, no one knew her, and she became a famous prickly figure in the factory.

It is conceivable that people of her character are undoubtedly a great challenge for us as consultants as suppliers. Not long after our consultant team entered, she didn't get along well with PP consultants because she thought our PP consultants were not professional and skilled enough to help her. At the weekly meeting within the SME team, she clamored for a replacement and was clearly dismissive and unfriendly to PP consultants. As for our consultants in other modules, we are very careful not to mess with this woman, so as not to be caught and maimed by her.

At that time, we saw that Sherry usually drove an Audi A6 to and from work, so she should not be short of money. Later, we heard her colleagues say that her husband was the general manager of a company with an annual salary of more than one million yuan. So we don't understand the way she works too seriously for a rich woman like her. Is this necessary? After all, work is not the whole life. She is not short of money. She can live a good life even if she does not work. Is it necessary to quarrel with almost all the colleagues in the factory in order to work? Is it necessary to affect your mood in order to work? do you even have few friends? But that's one of the reasons why she can be what I call a "strange person": although her family is rich and doesn't have to work hard for a living, she still works hard, crazy, serious and responsible. That's why she was selected to join the SAP project team, and her boss and even the factory director, many Americans who are senior executives in the factory, appreciate her responsible and aggressive style of work.

Later, our PP consultant, through his own efforts, let sherry see its value with his own specialty, finally subdued sherry, took care of sherry; and became good friends with sherry in the second half of the project. At that time, when we had meetings in the morning, we often saw Sherry holding a water bottle containing Fresh Cucumber Juice. According to our PP consultant, her mother-in-law squeezed it for her every morning. According to our PP consultant, she has a good and harmonious relationship with her mother-in-law! Dear, according to our ordinary people's understanding, according to the historical tradition of the difficult relationship between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law in China since ancient times, her strong, tough and serious personality, the relationship between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law must have been in a mess, and her mother-in-law must have been abused to death by her. She and her mother-in-law became very good friends! It's incredible. It's incredible. This is the second reason why I think she is a strange person. she is strong, outspoken but not bad. She can handle the relationship between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law very well and easily solve the difficult problem of the relationship between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law that has spread in China for thousands of years.

Generally speaking, Sherry was friendly to me during the implementation of the project. Because I have always attached great importance to her questions on the project, the first time to give answers, and even give priority to answer her questions, after all, do not want to provoke her to get mad. This makes her more satisfied, so she is quite trusting and friendly to me. In the second half of the project, she and I could joke and occasionally talk about dirty jokes.

When I came to Suzhou to work on the project, she learned that we (me and the PP consultant on the previous LL project) had come to Suzhou and warmly contacted us, saying that we wanted to have dinner and catch up. I also talked with the PP consultant about the unforgettable experience of working with Sherry on the LL project, from not being trusted by her to being a good friend with her. I also took the time to write this article to record the strong girl who is super serious and responsible for her work-Sherry.
