Shulou(Shulou.com)06/01 Report--
This article mainly introduces the relevant knowledge of how to change the WiFi password in the Arch Linux terminal, the content is detailed and easy to understand, the operation is simple and fast, and has a certain reference value. I believe you will gain something after reading this Arch Linux terminal article on how to change the WiFi password. Let's take a look at it.
Change the WiFi network password at the terminal
After changing the WiFi password of the router, I tried to run the wifi-menu command to update the WiFi password, but it kept reporting the following error:
Sudo wifi-menu
My WiFi network is called Murugs9376. I selected my WiFi network and pressed enter at OK. Instead of asking me to enter a new WiFi password (I thought it would ask me if my password had changed), it showed the following error:
Interface 'wlp9s0' is controlled by netctl-autoWPA association/authentication failed for interface' wlp9s0'
I don't have much experience with Arch distributions. So I went to the Arch Linux forum hoping to find a solution. Thankfully, someone posted the same problem and got a solution from an old Arch driver.
Network-related configuration files are stored in the / etc/netctl/ folder. For example, here are the contents of this folder on my Arch Linux test machine:
Ls / etc/netctl/Sample Output:examples ostechnix 'wlp9s0-Chendhan Cell Service' wlp9s0-Pratheeshhooks wlp9s0 wlp9s0-Murugu9376interfaces wlp9s0-AndroidAP wlp9s0-none
If I want to change my password, all I have to do is delete my WiFi network profile (in this case, wlp9s0-Murugs9376) and rerun the wifi-menu command.
Therefore, delete the original WiFi configuration file with the following command:
Sudo rm / etc/netctl/wlp9s0-Murugu9376
After deleting the configuration file, run the wifi-menu command to update the WiFi password.
Sudo wifi-menu
Select the WiFi network and press enter.
Enter a new name for the new profile:
Finally, enter the new WiFi password into the configuration file and press enter.
That's it. Now, we have updated our WiFi network password. As you can see, it is not very difficult to update the WiFi password in the Arch Linux terminal. Anyone can finish it in a few seconds.
