Case description:

A total of seven virtual machines are required to build this environment:

Two Windows 10 with office 2016 installed act as clients.

Two Windows server 2008 R2, one (DC1) analog domain controller and the other intranet DNS; (DC2) simulate the installation of Exchange 2010.

Two Windows server 2012 R2, one (DC01) simulates the installation of Exchange 2016, and the other (DC02) simulates routing and public network DNS.

A Windows server 2003, which simulates the public domain controller and opens public network e-mail users.

1. Start deployment: 1. Deploy DC1:

DC1 install domain controller

Configure IP address, gateway, and DNS

Win+R key to open the run window, enter dcpromo to install the domain controller

Upgrade the forest functional level to Windows server 2008 R2, and then click next

Configure IP address, gateway, and DNS

Join the domain

Copy Exchange 2010 prerequisites to a virtual machine

Add aliases to internal and external DNS (on DC1 domain controller)

Edit the alias name and browse to the target host

Create a send connector

Edit the name of the send connector and browse its usage

3. Deploy DC02:

DC02 adds two network cards to act as router and public network DNS (VM2 is internal network and VM3 is public network)

Configure internal and external network gateways

Install DNS and remote access

Keep the default next step to add server roles, select DNS and remote access, and click next

Keep the default next step to the role service, add a routing role, and click next

By default, the next step is to install.

4. Deploy win2k3:

Open add and remove programs

Add an email service

Open the pop3 service

Open IIS Manager to configure send Connector

Select SMTP virtual server properties

Trunking is restricted to the following list only

Configure exchange 2010 receive Connector

Check anonymous users, click App OK, and disable restart after completion.

Start configuring intranet and extranet clients

5. Deploy Windows10_01 (inside):

Add VM2 Nic to the intranet client

Configure IP address, gateway, and DNS

The client installs office 2016 on its own. I won't demonstrate it here. If you need to install the package, you can go to my network disk to extract it.

Select manual configuration, and click next

Choose to connect to POP or IMAP, and click next

Enter user information

Modify other settings

Modify the sending server

Test complete, click next

Complete the setup

Received several test emails to prove that there was no problem.

6. Deploy Windows10_02 (external):

Add VM3 Nic to the client of the public network

Select manual settings and click next

Select a POP or IMAP connection and click next

Enter user information and test account settings

Test sending and receiving email

Bob e-mailed marry, marry and replied to bob, proving that there was no problem with internal and external sending and receiving.

Next, to install Exchange 2016, first install a patch on the Exchange 2010 server

Install .NET Framework

To install UcmaRuntimeSetup, click continue

Open the CD and copy all folders to your computer

Exchange 2016 opens user mailbox

Browse existing users, click more options, and select mailbox database

You can see that administrator and bob are on Exchange 2010 server, tom is on Exchange 2016 server, and their mailbox database numbers are not the same.

Test whether the coexistence environment is normal. Exchange 2010 and Exchange 2016 email each other.

Select time

Send a new message to bob

Bob receives the email and replies to tom

Exchange 2016 server opens the front-end and back-end services of pop3 to provide services to the outside world

Right-click the property, change it to automatic, and restart it.

At this point, the internal and external network co-storage environment has been completed. In order to avoid errors, it is recommended to take a snapshot of the clean co-storage environment. Later migration errors can restore the snapshot.
