Configure Arduino Yun

No matter which method you use to connect to Arduino Yun, you can now configure your Arduino Yun. The first thing you need is to access the interface shown in figure 3.18 using their respective methods.

The figure shows the configuration login interface, whose default password is "arduino". After entering the password, click the LOG IN button to log on to the welcome page, as shown in figure 3.19.

The WIFI and WIRED ETHERNET interfaces'IP address, subnet mask, MAC address, and information about sending and receiving data are displayed in this interface. Click the CONFIGURE button in the upper right corner to enter the configuration interface. The configuration interface is divided into three major parts, namely, Y ú n board configuration, Wireless parameters and REST API access, which are described below.

Y ú n board configuration (Yun motherboard configuration)

The Y ú n board configuration section is used to configure the relevant parts of the development board, as shown in figure 3.20.

The YUN NAME option here is used to set the name of the board, it must be specified, it will be displayed in the port information of Arduino IDE. It should be noted that names only support uppercase and lowercase letters, and nothing else (including spaces). The PASSWORD option is to set the password to access the OpenWrt part of the Arduino Yun, which includes access to the configuration interface and the SSH remote connection password to be introduced. The TIMEZONE option is to set the time domain of OpenWrt, and setting it to your region may help WiFi connect to the local network, such as Asia/Chongqing.

ArduinoYun sets Wireless parameters (wireless parameter)

This section is used to set wireless parameters, and its items are shown in figure 3.21.

The Configure a wireless network option is used to select whether to configure the wireless network. The Detected wireless networks option is used to select the wireless network to access. After clicking the Refresh link, it will use all detected wireless networks as drop-down list items for you to choose from. After a specified wireless network is selected, its name is displayed in the Wireless name text box and the encryption method is displayed in the Security drop-down list. The Password option is used to set the password for the wireless network.

ArduinoYun set REST API access (REST API access)

This section is used to set the REST API access method-encryption and openness, as shown in figure 3.22. REST API allows you to access your sketch, send commands, and exchange configuration information over the network.

A password is required by default, so you will be asked to enter a password when uploading sketch for Arduino Yun using the network, as shown in figure 3.23.

After all the above project settings are complete, you can apply the settings and restart Arduino Yun by clicking the CONFIGURE&RESTART button. Alternatively, click the DISCARD button to unset it, as shown in figure 3.24.

After clicking the CONFIGURE & RESTART button, Arduino Yun starts to restart, and after the restart, the new configuration takes effect, so you need to use the new password for the corresponding operation.
