This product upgrade could only be said to be a regular product upgrade. The new iMac has no new design changes. It is said that the real all-round upgrade iMac will not be launched until Apple's self-developed chip is enabled.

The new 27-inch iMac upgrades the CPU to Intel's next-generation 10th generation U, with up to an optional 10th generation i9 processor. 256GB SSD storage starts, which can be said to be a very big step forward. However, combined with the starting price of 14999 yuan, it actually increased the price compared with the previous 27-inch iMac.

The new 27-inch iMac comes with Apple's T2 security chip, Apple's second-generation custom chip. The storage controller in the T2 security chip provides instant data encryption for everything stored in the SSD, ensuring file and data security. Taken together, the introduction of Apple's T2 security chip allows the iMac to also have encrypted storage and Siri voice triggering capabilities.

Apple also switched to a 1080P camera, the previous model is 720P, should have better performance in dark light, it seems to be in order to recently use video conferencing demand. Microphones have also been updated, with the new iMac equipped with a three-microphone array.

The 5K screen also has a small upgrade.

The ports on the back of the machine remain unchanged, with four Thunderbolt 3 ports, two USB 3.2 Type A ports, an SD card reader, Ethernet ports and a headphone jack. In terms of connectivity, it supports 802.11ac Wi-Fi and Blue 5.0.

iMac Pro Minor Adjustments 10 Core into Starter Configuration

In addition to updating the 2020 iMac, Apple has also made a minor adjustment to the iMac Pro line. The iMac Pro base model now includes 10-core Intel Xeon processors, and with this update Apple has removed the 8-core iMac Pro entirely from the product line, while the 10-core iMac Pro will become the entry configuration. But users can still manually add configurations to 18 cores.

The updated 21.5-inch iMac and iMac Pro models start at $8399 and $38199, respectively.
