1. Windows queries hostname and SID:

Windows hostname query: whoami

Host SID query: whoami / all

2. After testing, it is proved that the matters needing attention for bare metal recovery by using windows Server Backup tool:

a. Can only restore the content and system status of disk C

The system SID after b.WSB bare metal recovery is the same as the previous system SID.

c. The computer hardware configuration can be restored if it is different from the previous computer hardware configuration.

d. The mac address of the network card of the restored computer is different from that of the original computer.

3. Bare metal reduction

Bare metal restore requires wndows server 2008 R2 system disk to enter the system repair to restore when booting.

System state restore needs to be restored in directory restore mode when the system with windows server 2008 R2 is powered on.

Other types of recovery (files and folders, volumes) are restored by opening the wsb tool after the system is newly installed.
