Officeworks, a large Australian chain, has decided to stop selling AirTag for the safety of its children. For some reason, they have received complaints that replaceable batteries are too easy to remove and may be swallowed by children.

"Officeworks will not store the product until the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission provides further guidance. Officeworks will continue to work with Apple to resolve any security issues," a representative of the chain said.

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) said it was aware of the safety of children, adding that retailers were retailers and could decide whether they could withdraw a product from the store if they found a safety risk.

At this point, stores in other areas where Apple AirTag can be purchased will withdraw the device for security reasons.
