Shulou(Shulou.com)06/02 Report--

Fault description: because each file must have an inode, it is possible that the inode has been used up, but the hard drive is still not full. At this point, a new file cannot be created on the hard drive.

Cause of failure: too many small byte cache files, although it does not take up much block, but takes up a lot of inode, resulting in unable to add new data.

Simulate a failure that the number of files in the file system is exhausted

Simulate I node exhaustion failure:

(1) create a new 1G disk sdb, format it as .xfs, mount it to the / data directory, and use the command with df-I to confirm the usage of the I node in the file system.

(2) create a script that constantly copies text, exhausting all available I nodes in the / dev/sdb1 partition (523773)

(3) when the I node is exhausted, when a new file is created in the file system, the false appearance of "there is no space on the device" will appear, but you can also see that there is actually remaining space available on the partition through the df command, but because the node has been used up, the new file cannot be created.

(4) repair I node exhaustion failure

We only need to find the small files that occupy a large number of I nodes on the partition and transfer or delete them. If it is a file system common to many users, it is recommended to set a disk limit for the relevant users (including the number of files and disk space).
