Shulou(Shulou.com)06/02 Report--
First talk about the background environment, two DELL M1000E knife boxes, installed with six M620 blade servers, of which four do Microsoft's FailoverCluster, this cluster accesses two DELL EQ storage together.
On these two storage, the corresponding volumes are delineated respectively, and the virtual machines of the cluster are accessed.
The requirement is that the current mail server does not have enough disk space and needs to be expanded. Because it is not convenient to paste up the picture of your production environment, I just need to talk about the process and matters needing attention.
Step 1: go to the management port of DELL EQ, log in, select the name of the Volume you want to expand, click Modify settings, and then in the space tab, enter the volume capacity you want to expand. For example, if you are originally 4.5TB, if you want to expand to 5TB, enter 5TB and remember that the last unit is used to select. After the completion, there is the first warning, meaning what does not support 2TB ah, ask you if you want to continue, this must be the main point yes. Then ask you if you want to take a snapshot (since we are poor, we choose whether or not to do a snapshot of standard documents). And then it can be done very quickly.
Step 2: go to Failover Cluster and expand the shared volume with the command:
Be sure to execute the following command through the physical machine of the owner of the volume.
Run Powershell as an administrator
Then enter the following command:
DISKPART
LIST DISK
SELECT DISK X X is the disk number, which you can see under disks under failover.
LIST VOLUME
SELECT VOLUME X X is the number of the volume you want to expand
EXTEND (some people can use EXPAND, this is not a command at all, in what I call EXTEND)
Then you can see that the volume space has been expanded in failover cluster.
The third step is to expand the disk for the virtual machine in failver cluster.
In failover cluster, click Roles, find the virtual machine, then right-click settings, then find the disk you want to expand in SCSI Controller, click edit, and then next, select Expand by default, enter new spatial data, and click finish.
The third step, virtual machine, open disk management, you will see that some disks have blank space, click on the disk, right-click Extend Volume... Next step, next step, it's done.
Finally, in the virtual machine, click on the computer, and you can see that the disk space has expanded.
There are also tools to do this extension, because my environment does not have such tools, can only use off-the-shelf management console to do.
The experience of doing this is that it is best to document well so that you don't forget it later.
Be sure to do it at the owner node of the volume
By the same token, editing virtual machines is best done on the failover cluster owner node, so there will be fewer problems.
