Shulou(Shulou.com)06/02 Report--
Citrix Receiver For Windows 4.5 is released with XenApp/XenDesktop 7.11 and used with 7.11, so let's take a look at some of the enhancements.
I. SSON configuration Checker
In general, configuring SSON and checking that it is configured correctly is a rather complex process. As a result, the Citrix bit simplifies and facilitates managing the process, with the introduction of the SSON configuration Checker, which is now integrated into the advanced settings of Citrix Receiver.
When the user clicks configuration Checker, you will see the following interface.
Note: the configuration Checker is only available when installed with administrator privileges.
Currently, SSO is the only configuration check that can be selected.
If we need to confirm whether SSO is configured successfully, after selecting the SSO option, click "run" to perform the following tests:
Verify that SSON binaries are installed
Verify that the configuration of Receiver allows the user's desktop login credentials to be used for single sign-on
Verify that PNSSON is registered
Verify that SSONSvr is running
Verify that automatic login with username and password is enabled in the trusted zone
Verify that SF URL has been added to the trusted zone
Verify that the SSON policy is enabled.
Second, set options
As you all know, there is a setting option in Citrix Receiver 3.4 that allows users to enable and disable application shortcuts and workspace control settings. This option was removed or no longer available in Citrix Receiver 4.x. Instead, it is provided through GPO or registry settings. In fact, doing so also has both advantages and disadvantages. The drawback of this setting of Citrix Receiver 4.x is that the situation is not ideal for clients of non-domain users. Therefore, in order to adapt to the non-regional environment of the people, this long-awaited function has come back.
Users can modify the Application display and reconnect options preferences from Advanced preferences > Settings.
Based on the need for uniform settings in the domain environment, Citrix provides administrators with the setting to disable this setting option. This can be done through the GPO/CLI setting.
The settings are stored in the appropriate registry key:
GPO-> HKLM\ Software\ Policies\ Citrix\ DisableSettings
CLI-> HKLM\ Software\ Policies\ Citrix\ DisableSetting
1-Disable Shortcuts Tab
2-Disable Workspace Tab
3-Disable Entire UI
III. Unifying ADMX documents
In previous versions, Citrix had multiple admx or adm files for Receiver policies.
Ica-file-signing.admx
Admx
HdxFlash-Client.admx
Cdmx
These are now merged into a new Receiver.amdx file.
The administrator can find this file in the following location:
C:/Program Files (x86) / Citrix/ICA Client/Configuration. The ADML file can be found in the language folder in the same directory.
4. Configure NetScaler URL
With Citrix Receiver 4.5, we will be able to configure NetScaler URL through GPO or during installation, similar to StoreFront URL.
When configuring NetScaler URL, consider that you must use the following format:
Https://gateway.Silitone.Com#TestStore (the name of the app store is marked and preceded by NetScaler URL)
There are some limitations to this feature:
1. If there are multiple app store listings, NetScaler URL should be listed at the top, followed by StoreFront URL.
2. Multiple NetScaler URL is not supported
3. If you change the NetScaler URL, you need to reset the Receiver.
4. NetScaler Gateway URL configured in this way does not support PNA Services sites located behind NetScaler Gateway.
Fifth, relative mouse support
Relative mouse support improves the user experience of 3D and game applications controlled by the mouse; for example, cameras.
Users can enable this setting in a desktop session by enabling the use of the relative mouse from the Desktop Viewer toolbar (preferences > connections).
This feature is available only in published desktop sessions and requires version 4.5 of Citrix Receiver for Windows and version 7.8 or later of VDA.
The rest have some features:
For example, smart card authentication support for Web Interface 5.4: Citrix Receiver for Windows version 4.5 supports smart card authentication for Web Interface 5.4 with XenApp 6.5. If the XenApp PNAgent site is configured to use a smart card as the authentication method, the user can log in to Citrix Receiver using the smart card.
Twain 2.0 support: Citrix Receiver for Windows 4.5 supports TWAIN 2.0 devices. Twain devices such as digital cameras or scanners help optimize image transmission from the server to the client.
Hide the add account dialog box: the add account dialog box is displayed when the app store is not configured. Users can now select the check box on the Citrix Receiver installation wizard to prevent the add account window from being displayed on subsequent logins.
Users can choose USB audio settings: provide finer-grained control over access to USB audio devices. Using this function, users can choose those audio devices of the client to be redirected to virtual applications according to their own wishes. At present, this function only supports XenApp.
