So the program code must be completed some time before the official release, this completed program code is called Final.Code, after the program code development is completed, the master film will be sent to the factory to press a large number of tablets, this version is called RTM version. So, the code of the RTM version must be the same as the official version. However, there are some differences between the official version and the official version: for example, the OEM in the official version cannot be upgraded and installed, and if the upgraded version is newly installed, it will check the old operating system CD, and so on. These are the differences between RTM and the official version, but their main program codes are all the same. Strictly speaking, this version is still a retail version and needs to be activated.

GA: short for General availability, the software has completed the necessary commercial activities, such as promotion, advertising and so on. At this point, the software can be released on CD-ROM or on the Internet. According to convention, the interval between RTM and GA is generally about 1 week-1 month.

Boxed copy (boxed): the software is pressed into a CD and packaged in a designed box.

Short for RTW:Release to Web, the software will be released online, for example, in the Microsoft download Center. There will not be any optical discs or other items produced in this process.
