Apple has created a new personal Security user Guide that explains how customers protect themselves and their personal data when using AirTags, iPhone and other products.

Apple has a history of being proactive in terms of privacy and security. In its latest website update on Tuesday, Apple is trying to further educate its users about what it does with security and how they use available features to protect themselves.

The personal Security user Guide for Apple devices is a resource for "anyone worried about or experienced technology abuse, tracking, or harassment." The guide says it can help users "disconnect digitally from people you no longer want to contact and outline the security features included in Apple products."

The guide covers many areas, including situations where the user may have granted access to personal information to others, or where someone has access to the user's device or account and makes changes without permission.

In addition to digital security, the guide also covers elements related to location data, including Find My applications. It even covers how to quickly use emergency SOS mode in applicable devices, and how to automatically tell friends that users get home safely.

Apple said it would update the guide regularly. It added that these instructions also apply primarily to hardware running the latest versions of its operating system, such as macOS12.1, iOS15.2 and iPadOS15.2, as well as providing more details for other products.

The guide was released after some reports about the AirTag anti-tracking feature, and users found themselves hidden in the AirTags tracking of the vehicle. Although it worked as expected, these notifications led to many articles that appeared to attack Apple and AirTag, although it actually helped the victim in various ways.
